BeauCARE is a non-profit community agency that has a twenty-seven year history of serving the Beauregard Parish area with quality and comprehensive programs to improve the quality of life for community residents of all ages. BeauCARE was originally incorporated in October of 1991 as the DeRidder Family YMCA, Inc. In 1994, the Board of Directors decided to work toward developing a community-based recreational and educational program, and the name was changed to BeauCARE (Beauregard Cooperative Association for Recreation and Education).
The current Recreation Center opened in October of 1998, to provide a Safe Place with Caring Adults for the youth in the community. In 2002, the agency again partnered with the City of DeRidder and began managing the West Park Pool, the only municipal pool in the area. The agency is also a member the Afterschool Alliance, NRPA (National Recreation and Parks Association) and LRPA (Louisiana Recreation and Parks Association) along with being active in the Beauregard Parish Children Services Planning Board. BeauCARE was also named Non-Profit of the Year for 2012 by the Greater Beauregard Chamber of Commerce. In 2018, the agency will be celebrating it's 27th Anniversary of providing services and programs to the children and families in Beauregard Parish and surrounding communities.
BeauCARE's focus and vision are based around four distinct program areas: Education;Youth Development;Sports, Recreation, and Health; and Family Life. Through integration among these four areas, BeauCARE strives to engage participants in ways that will make a lasting, positive impact on their lives, their families, and the communities in which they work and live.
"Assisting children, families, and communities in connecting to programs and resources that will improve their quality of life.”
